Coffee, Anyone?

I live literally 25 steps from the Kings location and I can smell the aroma of of the beans being made into a fresh cup of coffee just for me. I love this coffee and the price is right for me. But the one thing that I don't like about this location especially is the attitude or feeling I get from the staff. They treat you like a wannabe barista and that you have no knowledge of any coffee concoction. I do agree with the other review of "Soup Nazi". Just order fast, tip out and step to the side. I went regularly when I first moved here but now I only go when I have no coffee in the house and I am in desperate need for a "fix".

Happy New Year.

So this year is going to be better then the last, right? Not so far. Spent News Years working and alone. And I'm broke. In the hole actually. Its a nice place so far.
Depression is a comfortable shoe. But I have started to look forward because the past is far to ugly and horrible to look upon.
I cannot figure out how to add anything to this blog beside my posts and picture.
So I will add 365. One a day. Seems to be a popular notion, so I will join the bandwagon.
Thats it for now.
I hope your New Year will be better then mine has started to be.

Fire.

I don't have any pictures or evidence. But I walked outside my building and a man was standing there. I walked up to him and he said be careful there is a car on fire. So i looked and it was smoking with a little flamage underneath. He looked calm. I would be freaking out. He said that the car was revving higher then normal. He already called the fire station and a cop was directing traffic. I love Quadra St. Something always happens here. Even if all you want is a coffee and the morning paper.

Went for a walk today.

I walked around early this morning. Had a great little breakfast on Cook St., a coffee at Moka then back home through Fernwood. I moved here for the all the wrong reasons but I stay for at least three that I can think up.
My first reason is nature and the environment. There is the most interesting plant life here. With the mild moist weather there is also moss almost everywhere. You walk down any street and you will find a tree or bush that is interesting or worth picture taking.
Along with the fresh air in the middle of downtown, there are also "mountains" and wheatfields. From one extreme landscape to another is what you will find here. A new experience or sight of natures path to discover.
And that is why I stay.
For now.

My new favorite tea. Yes, I like flavored teas over all the other black or greens. A guy friend calls them girly teas, but I call them yummy warmness on a rainy day. This one is Chai tea with honey & vanilla.
It has a strong cardamon, cloves, ginger with a bit of cinnamon & vanilla taste so I always add just a little more honey. This also makes my sweet very happy. I really like C S's teas. You get 20 good cups for about $4.00. And a little secret, There is usually a quote and different drink recipies/ideas inside.
So next time someone offers you a "girly" tea, just try it out. The taste and feeling might surprise you.

This is my Christmas treat. I don't drink milk that much anymore so soy it is. It's really not that bad. It is not thick and doesn't make you feel all clogged up.
It still has the spicy nog taste of cloves ans nutmeg. It takes a bottle to get used to, but I will buy much more during the holiday season. Of course I cannot remember the price, I'll get back to you on this.
Try it out!! Tell me what you think.
